Hitching

Well, I just returned from what should have been a turning point in my life. Yes, you guessed it; The Hitchhiker's Guie to the Galaxy.
This movie's put me into turmoil. I'm a huge fan of the books written by Douglas Adams, but those books were defined by the bits that came between the action of the plot. Without a constant narration it's pretty hard to translate that onto film... But. The director and producer definitely had their hearts (of Gold) in the right place. The movie would be tough for anyone who's never read the books to understand, just because of the randomness of some of the humour, I think. And I'm not really surprised that Tim and I were the only two people in the theatre tonight. Yes, we're geeks. I give the movie a thumbs up for artistic merit. Not to mention for the casting of Zooey Deschanel as Trillian... yowza!

In other news, I moved into my new apartment two weeks ago yesterday, and I couldn't be happier! I'll show everyone around once I figure out to hold my palm pilot still enough that the photos aren't too fuzzy. I hope everyone out there is well!

I have returned!

Sorry, I was gone there for a while... just got home from Ottawa and Kingston.

Ottawa was lots of fun, and I made a few new friends as well as met up with an old one while I was there. Management at my company is in for a fun time...

In Kingston, I moved Meg to a new apartment with her roommate, Joelle. That was quite the job, and it took most of a day, but was lots of fun, and we got it done without too many problems. I also got Meg a gold bracelet with little diamonds imbedded in it, which sort of matches the necklace that I got her a long while ago. So, that went over well. I'll see if I can't get a picture of it to show; it's really pretty.

Today, Meg and I drove home from K-town, and stopped at Ikea along the way to pick up a few things... kitchen stuff that I needed and a lamp.

It was pointed out to me that I never did show what the completed Dream Machine looks like, and now that I've been using it for a couple of weeks, I should probably put something up about it. I'll take a picture once it's set up at the new place. For now, I'll say that it rocks like nobody's business, and it's very quiet except for one fan that's on the video card that is louder than every other fan in the bloody machine. I may have to fix that at some point in time, but for now, I'm not spending any more money on computer stuff.

I hope everyone is well. Question for the day: How were you raised to think about Unions? What good do they do? What are some of their negative points?
